Notes, quotes, photos and voice memos pinned to the book and the day. The timeline is the record, not a summary of it.

Pace, goals, reading streak and milestones. Worked out on the device, from what you recorded yourself.
Covers by camera
Photograph a cover to add the book, or point at a shelf and find out which of them you already own. The recognition happens in here.
Labels and loans
QR and NFC to stick on a book, and a record of who took what and since when.

Manga, web novels and anything that comes out chapter by chapter get their own place: how many are out, how far you have read, and when the next one is expected.
And a digital book is not always a file. You can say whether it is an epub you hold, a licence bought from a store, or something you read on a subscription — because only one of the three is still yours when the subscription ends.
